Our client, a leader in the Aerospace industry, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a long term basis in the Brampton area.

• Description:* The role of the mechanical engineer will be to work along side the design team to edit, revise and approve cad drawings, while also supporting manufacturing and generating analysis reports/test plans. The mechanical engineer will be responsible for validating the mechanical design by conducting mechanical tests on the product hardware. Some other responsibilities include, performing stack up analysis, component sizing and selection and on a rare occasion will be asked to design parts. Other responsibilities include:
• Supporting manufacturing and testing of subsystems, assemblies and components
• Identify risks, proposes solutions and develops mitigation strategies.
• Investigate problems/failures during development and test - customer interactions for presentations, technical discussions or training.
  
  

Liaises with customer to resolve issues and discuss new business.

• Skills:* Mechanical engineering, hand calculations, mechanism, component selection, systems engineering, stack up analysis, tolerance analysis, tolerance stack ups, gearbox, actuator, motors, bearings, subsystems
• MUST HAVE: *
• Minimum 7 years of Mechanical Engineering experience in one of the following industries (robotics, aerospace, automotive, medical device, electronics or military)
• Experience with Mechanism design (conceptual free body design, not CAD modeling).
• Analysis activities experience including tolerance analysis, component selection/sizing and performance analysis
• Hand calculations
• First level hand calculations to substantiate design concepts. - experience with Actuators, motors, bearings, gears
