Mechanical Engineer, Capital Projects

Overview

Corner Brook Pulp and Paper is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work within our Engineering Department.

Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Collaborate with and lead outside resources during planning phase of Capital Projects
• Supervise on site contractors for project execution
• Provide leadership for planning phases of capital projects
• Work as Mechanical resource for all capital projects
• Respond to breakdowns and machine issues by trouble shooting mechanical equipment
• Support Maintenance reliability with Mechanical equipment at Mill site or Deer Lake Power as required
  
  

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline.
• 5 years of work experience in a similar role in a unionized environment preferred
• Proficient use of computers (ie. Microsoft Office including MS Projects, etc.)
• High level of attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize, think critically and analyze data.
• Ability to supervise unionized employees.
• Ability to work independently to drive projects to completion.
• The Successful Candidate(s) will be required to submit a Certificate of Conduct from a local police agency or the RCMP before commencing employment.
