Material Handler / Forklift Operator

We are looking for a Material Handler for our Client in the Cornwall area . I f you are looking for a great opportunity to grow with a well-established company, then this is the career for you!

In the position, your primary responsibilities would include Shipping and receiving of bulk goods in solid and liquid form by rail and/or truck. You would also be required to perform general yard work and minor maintenance as needed.

What do you need to do?

• operate lift trucks to unload dry goods and movement of portable equipment ( ex: pumps, totes)
• load/unload bulk liquid tankers including operation of truck scale, use portable or fixed pumps and metering equipment, inspect tankers, obtain samples for lab testing, calculate load volumes/capacities and conversions from mass to volume, etc.
• complete shipping documentation (scale tickets/equipment inspection reports, loading cards)
• maintain proper storage in warehouse area including segregation of materials, inventory counts, using FIFO system, and general housekeeping
• maintain storage tanks at proper temperatures including use of nitrogen and steam lines to move or heat product
• O perat e impact wrenches and hand tools, connect hoses and fittings and liquid transfer using pump or nitrogen pressure
• Meet all environmental, health and safety requirements in the workplace and promote safe work practices in others.
  
  

What are we looking for?

• Minimum of Grade 12 education along with one-year of post-secondary technical training.
• Previous experience in Manufacturing is required (Chemical industry as strong asset)
• Ability to work effectively in a small, select group.
• Someone capable of climbing stairs frequently, wearing full-face respirator PPE when required, handling lose hoses and working in an outdoor environment.
