Job Description:
Working as part of the Campaigns team, the Marketing Strategist, Campaigns is responsible for managing Campaign forecasting, planning and execution. Using their functional knowledge and familiarity with Digital Marketing, Omni-channel Campaigns, and Campaign analysis, they will ensure that in-market campaigns are consistently based on data-driven insights, historical learnings, and marketing opportunities.

The Marketing Strategist, Campaigns, supports the overall vision for marketing for World Vision Canada (WVC) by attracting quality traffic to our web properties for lead generation, engagement, and revenue purposes. The goal of the Marketing Strategist is to look beyond the horizon, with a focus on activities beyond those that are immediately upcoming.

Duties and responsibilities

Business Management
  • Support Campaign Manager in brief development and communication.
  • Maintain/ encourage a holistic view of campaign strategy, based on 18-24 month cycles.
  • Ensure omni-channel storytelling and Marketing Campaign strategy, with a particular focus on acquiring new donors, and lead generation.
  • Actively participate in reporting to WVC stakeholders, based on defined cadence.
  • Support Marketing Manager, Campaigns with actionable insights and “10,000-feet view”.
Reporting and Data
  • Ensures tracking/reporting capabilities in collaboration with the Analytics & Insights team, as well as members of the Campaigns Team.
  • Engage with and review media performance and campaign analytics.
  • Identify data-driven opportunities and critical insights.
  • Break down campaign analysis into digestible insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Consolidate and facilitate campaign reporting meetings, with support from team.
  • Gather and provide internal reports on industry trends and opportunities.
  • Facilitate cross-team knowledge transfer and sharing.
Planning & Implementation
  • Develops and present campaign proposals, and recommendations to Marketing Manager.
  • Ensure in-market alignment, and knowledge sharing throughout the organization, and global partnership where appropriate.
  • Ensure campaign adherence to brand guidelines & design system standards.
  • Ensure campaign activity is in sync and cumulative in value.
  • Supports with logistical coordination of 3rd party vendors and external partners.
  • Drive innovation in campaign strategy and channel presence.
  • Stay current with industry trends, direction, and opportunities.
Solution Analysis and Design
  • Analyze various requests and issues to assess their validity, impact (e.g. number of users impacted), importance, and urgency.
  • Analyze and assess data / system / user impact, and overall system architecture to determine the best solution / implementation approach and methodology (highest value / impact + lowest effort / time + lowest risk).
  • Share your knowledge with various stakeholders, execution team, and/or scrum teams by providing information regarding requested changes, their impact, as well as recommended implementation approach and methodology.
Collaboration
  • Must be able to work with business stakeholders at various levels to translate client business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the business processes and day-to-day support.
  • Works closely with D&IT and BCE Teams.
  • Manage and lead key meetings, including business discussions and team meetings, where appropriate.
Effectiveness & Efficiency
  • Seeks and promotes the digitization of processes that leads to cost efficiencies.
  • Through their work and role, generate fresh perspectives and approaches.
  • Seeks new opportunities to improve business outcomes using innovative (unique/original/untried) approaches to overcome obstacles and surpass performance.
  • Continually seeks and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Challenges self and teams to improve processes, reduction of backlog or wait times, increase response times and the reduction of non-value-added time.
  • Consistently strives to eliminate organizational technical debt.
Innovation
  • Generates creative campaign opportunities, as driven by data and insights
  • Identifies different and novel ways to deal with problems and opportunities.
  • Researches new technologies / processes to improve work deliverables.
  • Makes recommendations on improvements and enhancements to achieve organizational effectiveness.
  • Supports and encourages innovative thinking and design in daily work and within the team.
  • Employs organizational adopted tools and best practices to facilitate process improvement efforts and to contribute to the realization of divisional and strategic goals.
Qualifications:
  • Degree/Diploma in Business, Marketing, Media or similar discipline. (Preferred)
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in Marketing / Media.
  • 4+ years experience with Media campaign management tools.
  • Experience in customer facing campaign management related experience within a marketing environment, including reporting experience.
  • Understanding of web/mobile landscape.
  • Capacity to quickly navigate the changing digital landscape.
  • Experience working directly with internal/external clients in a face-to-face environment.
  • Experience working with and managing agencies and external vendors.
  • Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Experience working with omni-channel campaigns is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of development process and project management is an asset.
  • Understanding and experience working with/in Agile methodology is an asset.
