Our Security Strategy and Risk service helps Boards of Directors and C-Suite define a security program enabling them to grow and protect their business while remaining confident that they are fulfilling their responsibilities. This includes helping clients understand their current environment and strategic threats while developing roadmaps to close those gaps.

Job Description

Plan and coordinate audit activities with various stakeholders and technology teams to support timely audit execution.

Monitor, guide and advise technology teams to ensure compliance with various policies and security standards.

Review and challenge risk remediation plans

Design and implement governance, risk and control frameworks to effectively mitigate identified risks.

Support technology teams during assessments of effectiveness of controls

Document control issues and/or incidents

Work with stakeholders to complete root cause analysis and develop appropriate remediation strategies

Raise awareness of risk issues identified by auditors.

Coordinate audits and risk assessment programs-- including preparing information and data and facilitating the sessions.

Implement and educate and/or challenge technology teams and business units on the required controls to support the operational risk management program.

Qualifications:
Basic Skills

Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in risk advisory and/or internal audit

Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in internal controls, SOX and/or risk management including experience with: business process analysis, testing and monitoring, third-party risk management and governance, risk & control frameworks.

Must be very knowledge on leading risk standards and control frameworks eg: COBIT, ISO and COSO.

CISSP required.

In possession of, or able to qualify for, Canadian federal security clearance required

Preferred Skills

Minimum Bachelor’s degree

CISA or CRISC preferred

Willingness to travel

Able to meet requirements for retaining professional security certifications

Demonstrated leadership and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian
