Position: Malware Research Assistant Co-op

Duration: 4 Months

Date: Jan 3rd to April 29th, 2022

Education Recommendations:

Currently a candidate for Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Computer & Network Security, or related field with an accredited school in Canada.

What is Nokia looking for from me:

• Experience in a Linux based software development environment
• Experience in an Android software development environment
• Experience with Object Oriented Design and Programming in C, C++, Java, and/or PHP
• Experience with and knowledge of TCP/IP protocols
• Experience or knowledge of intrusion detection and prevention, malware analysis, anti-virus, firewalls and security information management systems

What you’ll be doing:

• Working alongside highly motivated domain experts, be exposed to the latest tools and technologies used in malware research including virtual environments for malware analysis, open source software, distributed systems, and web applications.
• Running malware samples in a sandboxed environment.
• Reviewing the detection signatures for accuracy and quality.
• Analyzing the network traffic generated by the malware.
• Developing new detection signatures
