Maintenance Worker - Recreation Facilities

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Supervisor of Recreation Facilities, employees in this permanent full time position perform manual work and operate equipment in accomplishing the operations and maintenance tasks assigned in delivering the programs and services in the City of Spruce Grove Recreation Facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Operational and preventative ice surface and ice plant maintenance.
• Minor maintenance of light equipment, power and hand tools and building systems,
• Cleaning duties within the assigned facilities,
• Interact and engage with the public in a courteous and professional manner.

Qualifications:

• Completion of High School or GED.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in the tasks and operation of equipment or,
• Custodial or related experience in a public building or arena operation.
• Minimum eighteen years of age.
• Physical strength and agility sufficient to perform the work.
• Basic computer skills.
• Possession of a valid Alberta Class 5 Motor Vehicle Operator’s License (Drivers abstract satisfactory to the City is required).
• WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods and First Aid certificates is an asset.
• ARFP Arena Operator Level 1 Certificate or equivalent would be an asset.
• Hire is dependent upon a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector/Child Intervention Check satisfactory to the City of Spruce Grove.
