The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held organization, with roots firmly planted in agriculture and agriculture-related businesses. We currently have Millwright Mechanic positions open at our potato processing facility in Portage la Prairie.

Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanic is responsible for maintaining line production equipment where facility objectives are met in a shift environment. This position is a full time position where coverage for 12 hour rotating shifts is required.

The successful candidate requires a Journeyman Millwright Certificate and a minimum of 2 years directly related experience as a wet end and/or packaging mechanic, preferably in the manufacturing industry. Computer skills are required and planning skills are preferred. The ability to function as part of a team, with exceptional interpersonal communication skills is essential for this role.
