Position Summary

We are recruiting a highly experienced Development Associate to join this dynamic Team. The ideal candidate is well versed in all aspects of development including donor recruitment, stewardship, retention with a particular emphasis on Annual & Planned Giving. From concept through creation, you will work alongside an exemplary team while managing a robust portfolio. Experienced in donation platforms, events and grant writing, with preference for working knowledge of U.S. and Canadian policies.

What you bring

You’re an ambitious go-getter with a “how can I make it happen” attitude who excels in building strong relationships, both internally and externally. Your exceptional written communication skills will enable you to present funding opportunities and demonstrate impact with success, and your creative flair will allow you to excel in developing fundraising programs and strategies. Your superb organizational skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills are critical to the role. You are patient, analytical, methodical and adept at problem solving. You have a professional manner along with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of people.

The Development Associate is responsible for engaging in financial partnerships to raise funds for LPHF humanitarian projects throughout the world. More specifically, you would be responsible for:

· Developing, building and stewarding relationships among corporate partners, with responsibility for the overall fundraising success of a designated portfolio

· Identifying, cultivating, and soliciting new and existing corporate partnerships.

· Developing and executing tailored fundraising strategies, including developing fundraising goals, plans and timelines in order to achieve the fundraising targets for your assigned portfolio.

· Formulating engaging proposals, communications, fundraising collateral and stewardship reports in collaboration with Marketing & Communications, Donor Relations and Strategic Partnerships, to engage donors in our cause.

· Presenting fundraising opportunities and demonstrating impact to corporate donors and volunteers.

· Leveraging data and reporting to gain insights to improve and maximize fundraising efforts and strategies.

In addition, you will bring:

· A minimum of five years of direct fundraising experience.

· Professional presentation skills and demeanor.

· Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

· A positive outlook and self-starter with inspirational vision.

· Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

· Database experience such as Raiser’s Edge NXT, E-Tapestry or other is an asset.

· Associate Certificate in Fundraising Diploma and/or CFRE designation are preferred, as is a Degree in Marketing or Business Administration .

· A flexible schedule that allows for after-hours events and meetings.
