Grenfell Campus, Memorial UniversitySchool of Science and the Environmental - Chemistry(Permanent Sessional Position)DUTIESThe successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and running first year laboratory classes in Chemistry and assisting faculty in second, third, and fourth year Chemistry and Environmental Science Courses. Duties include instructing students and assisting them in practical techniques in labs; designing and implementing lab exams; marking lab reports and exams; supervising instructional assistants during lab exercises; assisting students outside of formal laboratory periods; designing lab exercises (including organic chemistry) in collaboration with other Laboratory Instructors and faculty members; writing and compiling lab manuals; and performing other related duties as required.QualificationsConsiderable experience (3-5 years) conducting a Chemistry laboratory; completion of a Master’s degree with major course work in the field of Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related discipline; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Completion of most college level work equivalent to a Master’s degree may be considered with relevant experience. Possession of a valid class 5 driver’s licence, as issued by the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, would be an asset.SALARY$56,844 - $79,710 per annum (CUPE Local 1615)CLOSING DATE July 28, 2023 by 5:00 p.m. NSTCOMPETITION NO.
