Job Title: Junior Analyst (Finance)

Department: Working Capital & Cash Management

Employment Status: Full-time (Co-op)

Reporting to: Manager, Cash Management

The Junior Finance Analyst will be joining a dynamic finance team within the Enterprise Business Services office. The Cash Management team is responsible for payment run functions for the organization, pulling funds from stores for inventory/stock, and banking configuration. With these activities, there is reporting involved, system oversight/troubleshooting, projects and testing, and working collaboratively with Loblaw technical teams. The Junior Analyst will be closely involved with team members to cross train on daily activities, understand Cash Management functions, assist in reporting, and work through ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Involvement and training in Cash Management payment functions – including multiple payment methods (EFT, Cheque, Wire, PAD, and more).

Develop an understanding of the organization’s working capital needs, build financial analyses and evaluate cash flow opportunities.

Provide recommendations to senior management on issues related to working capital management strategy and operations.

Collaborate with treasury stakeholders on cash flow analysis projects, cash forecasting, and cash management initiatives.

Evaluate internal credit processes and risk management methodologies being used

Actively work on process review and automation projects within the risk management, working capital, and treasury teams

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of various working capital programs.

Other duties as assigned.

Strong financial modeling skills and excellent business acumen.

Demonstrated interest in corporate finance and/or working capital management.

Ability to execute swiftly and with attention to detail.

Superior communication and presentation skills.

High intrinsic motivation and capacity to learn quickly.

Education and experience:

Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution pursuing specialization in Finance, Accounting or Economics.

Experience with MS Excel modeling is highly desired.

Keen interest in pursuing a CFA designation.
