Matrix is looking for local Electricians in Halifax, NS.This position offers weekends off to allow for work/life balance. The pay rate is $37.12/hr. The candidates will be working indoors in a controlled environment. Additional overtime is being offered for this position.This position includes an excellent compensation package and medical, dental, and vision plan. Our client has been building quality vessels for over 50 years and has been in the forefront of Canadian shipbuilding for over 130 years.Job Details

• Work Hours: Monday - Friday.
• Shift: 8-hours/day.
• Overtime offered.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.
• Install shipboard cables, cable trays, conduits, and other materials & equipment.
• Identify types of equipment: motors and controls, generators, instrumentation, switchgear, industrial storage batteries, and lighting fixtures.
• Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical components.
• Use test equipment and components for current, continuity, and voltage.
• Use electrician hand and power tools and various test equipment.
• Maintain, repaired, and test motors, generators, and control systems.
• Effectively use Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.

Qualifications

• You must be eligible to work in Canada to apply for this job.
• A pre-employment Government Security Clearance/Background and Credit check will need to be completed.
• Full PPE + Fit Tested Respirator Mask.
