Journeyman Contractor Carpenters and Finishing Carpenters

Klean -Rite Ltd is seeking to hire Contractor Carpenters to be a part of our Subtrade program and help execute and fulfill Contracts.

We’re looking to partner with Independent Contractors who are Journeyman Carpenters and to join our team.  

This is a unique position and we’re looking for the right Sub Contractor that can bring their expertise to this position and join our team of Contractors on special projects.

We’re currently seeking several positions of:

Contractor Carpenters and Finishing Carpenters.

If you are in the Construction Field or Restoration Field, and have specific New Build and Renovation knowledge experience, we want to talk to you.

Contractors must be skilled and Ticketed, and must pass our Subcontractor Approval process by ensuring they have the appropriate Insurances, Confidentially Agreements will be signed, must have valid WCB, and Safety measures in place and must be able to execute without direction outside of initial Scope of Work and Timeline:

  • planning, coordinating, and implementing methods and procedures for the most efficient and economical management of jobs
  • executing all tasks related to completing the job working most often with a wide range of building materials either onsite or in a workshop
  • executing and completing all tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The Subtrade must follow direction from the Rebuild Project Manager, Project Coordinator, and other leads on site to complete assigned task and has superior customer service skills.
  • As a subtrade you would be operating under Klean-Rite Ltd, and as such must represent our company and values while on site.
  • Must be able to successfully correspond and communicate with Manager on items and job scope, while assuring the client feels heard and is satisfied.
  • Follows a written scope and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures, and material and tool requirements.
  • Always understand and follow local building codes and regulations.
  • Ensure all equipment, PPE, tools, and material is in working order and on the truck before leaving the building.
  • Ensure that all job-related paperwork is completed.
  • Be responsible for the finished product.
  • Be familiar with removal of interior and exterior building finishes/components and detailing of framing materials.
  • General knowledge of the material and techniques used in general construction/home building, including demolition and rough/finish carpentry.
  • Be precise in finish carpentry while hanging doors and cabinets, installing trim/railings, and setting windows.
  • Be willing to perform drywall repairs, painting/staining, or ceramic installation (backsplashes, etc.) as needed.
  • Be responsible for the finished product of the subcontractors working on the job.
  • Be responsible for keeping the job site always organized and clean
  • Working from Heights training is required.
  • Must lift heavy items of at least 50 lbs on a routine basis.
  • Be prepared to work in confined spaces or on scaffolding or platforms (providing you have proper training).
  • Have basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing to remove/reset lights, connect switches, detach/reset sinks, toilets, and appliances, etc
  • The workspace may be contaminated with heavy smoke residue, mold and mildew, contaminated water, or other unsanitary conditions. Protective gear must be used when required on some heavily contaminated work sites.
  • Be familiar with the appropriate tools, supplies and techniques used in a variety of different cleaning situations by reading trade journals and other industry information and attending industry educational opportunities.
  • Proficient in Demos, strip outs
  • Experience with Drywall handing, mud, tapping is considered an asset
  • Finishing and clean work is considered an asset
  • Ability to follow technical directions.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must be a Journeyman Carpenter
  • Hold a valid Driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract, as well as access to a vehicle to get to office REQUIRED
  • Criminal Record Check Required
  • Execution of our Subcontractor Application and completion.
  • Must have valid OHS Procedures or SMS (Safety Management System) or sign off to abide by Klean-Rite Ltd.’s Systems.
  • One member on your team must have valid First Aid and Work Alone procedures
  • Any member of your Contracting team must also hold:
  • Clear Criminal Record Checks and tickets listed below.

Tickets Required:

  • Journeyman Tickets
  • Or Apprentice working with Journeyman
  • WHIMS
  • TDG
  • Valid Drivers License 

  

COMPENSATION

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

  • carpentry: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • class 5 drivers licence (required)
