Iron Assistant

Role:

The Iron Assistant is responsible for all equipment assignments, maintenance and repairs of iron and iron components within projects and the facility.

Responsibilities:

• Reports to Iron Compliance Coordinator and works alongside Operations, Asset Management and Maintenance
• Supports the equipment requirement planning process in both static and dynamic phases of the project
• Provide input on optimization of equipment management processes & procedures
• Maintain the fleet iron and hoses used in day to day operations
• Organize and participate in semiannual iron recertification of each unit
• Understand and practice STEP’s Safety Policies and Procedures
• Adhere to the companies HSE policies and procedures
• As required, assist maintenance department in the daily operations of maintaining fleet
• Duties require an 5-2 scheduled work period, and the Iron Shop Assistant will be accessible by phone and must check messages every couple of hours when on duty
• Ensure that proper documentation of the iron certification process is completed and forwarded to the appropriate personnel
• Assist in arranging the shipping and receiving of incoming and outgoing iron to units, work sites, Service Centers and to third party vendors for recertification while ensuring internal records are kept up to date.
• All other duties as required

Related experience:

• Class 5 Drivers License (Class 1 preferred but not required
• Forklift, overhead crane and loader experience is an asset
• Relevant Industry knowledge is considered an asset
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team; strong sense of teamwork
• Problem recognition and solving skills
