- More than 8 years experience in architecture firm as a designer
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture

Duties:

• Develop Conceptual Design and Functional Requirements.
• Design Development, Code Research, Engineering Systems Coordination.
• Develop Project Budgets and Cost Control
• Review drawings standards relating to grid set-up, scale, titles, notes, labels and wall types.
• Supervise drawing standard protocol to set up drawings to allow for coordinated changes in all areas.
• Check and render in conformance with codes all stairs and vestibules, ramps, railings, guards, washroom counts, vanities and stalls.
• Check and render exits, exit stairs and corridors in conformance with codes (distance to exits and travel distances) and co-ordinate equivalencies if required.
• Co-ordinate structural elements (core, shear wall, floor construction type, roof construction type, column type, beam type) with Architectural components and maintain clearances (i.e. for curtainwall), separations (fire) and insulation (fire and thermal).
• Finalize elevator core dimensions accurately.
• Understand envelope systems and detail exterior walls to maintain thermal effectiveness and to avoid precipitation and condensation failures.
• Understand ASHRAE 90.1 performance standards as it relates to Building Envelope.
• Understand British Columbia Energy Step Code Requirements.
• Co-ordinate dimensions of windows within walls and render accurately.
• Correctly locate structural elements on drawings and render as appropriate.
• Prepare and check door schedule.
• Prepare and check interior finish schedule.
• Prepare and check exterior finish schedule.
• Prepare and check room finish schedule.
• Review shop drawings.
• Co-ordinate production of specifications with Associate in Charge or production in conformance with contract documents.
• Design fire truck access through site with civil and landscape consultant and render accurately.
• Design hard and soft landscape grades and details with civil and landscape consultant and consultants.
• Co-ordinate site and building lighting with electrical.
• Design parkade clearances with structural, mechanical and sprinkler and render in accordance with municipal by-laws.
• Set out parking in accordance with municipal by-laws.
• Understand millwork detailing and render accurately.
• Develop accurate interior elevations for special areas including reflected ceiling and floor plan details.
• Check working drawings for accuracy with working drawing checklist – forward to Associate in Charge for review prior to BP Application.
• Organize, prepare and submit BP Application.
• Provide back-up to Architect conducting field services with a clear understanding of contract administration protocols.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
