Bluestar Engineering Ltd. is a Calgary based EPCM company specializing in small to medium size oil and gas projects. We are a group of professionals who form a fully integrated multi-disciplinary organization backed by many years of experience.

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Civil Designer to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with CSA Project Lead to produce civil/structural/architectural drawing packages within project scope, schedule and budget.
• Drawing packages include civil grading, concrete, and piling layouts, sections, and details; structural steel isometrics, layouts, elevations, sections and details; architectural building plans and elevations.
• Use detailed sketches or redlines to create 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
• Check drawings to ensure they are complete and compliant with standards and specifications.
• Make revisions and improvements to designs/drawings in accordance with changing project demands.
• Order drawing numbers from document control for designers.
• Organize CSA drafting folders and drawing files as required.

Requirements:

• Civil Engineering Technologist diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5-10 years of experience is required. In an EPCM setting is preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• CADWorx Steel knowledge and experience is considered an asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Personable and able to work with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to adjust to change and multitask in a fast-paced setting.
