Our client is seeking a multi-talentedInside Sales/Purchasing Representativefor their Kamloops location. The successful candidate has experience working in a small business performing a multitude of tasks including handling all manner of customer inquiries, sourcing and ordering products and dealing with inventory. They are looking for an individual who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and is looking for a long-term rewarding career.

Core Responsibilities

  • Inside Sales duties include handling all customer inquiries including:
  • Attending the front counter walk-in business
  • Answering and responding to incoming customer calls and emails
  • Assisting with the preparation, submitting and following up on quotations
  • Working with the Company’s technical staff to determine and recommend the best solution for the customer (i.e., repair vs. replace)
  • Processing customer orders and payments
  • Purchasing duties include:
  • Sourcing products for customers, and ensuring they meet customer requirements
  • Providing purchasing support for shop activities
  • Identifying and negotiating preferred pricing with primary suppliers
  • Communicating with and maintaining a list of primary and secondary suppliers
  • Looking for alternative suppliers to drive costs out
  • Review Inventory reports and perform stock checks as required to keep inventory levels appropriate and records accurate
  • General duties include:
  • Inventory control includes coordinating physical movement of goods in and out of the warehouse and processing appropriate documentation
  • Assisting with shipping and receiving
  • Keeping front counter and warehouse organized
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • 5+ years in a customer service role
  • Experience in purchasing and/or inventory management is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of electrical apparatus is desirable (Transformers, Motors, Controls)
  • Good organizational skills
  • Data entry skills and hands-on experience with POS and/or accounting software

  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, staying organized and consistently meeting deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Education and Certifications

  • High school graduation or equivalency
  • Forklift operator certification is desirable

Compensation

  • A strong base salary (55-65K) and an annual performance bonus (up to 10%)
