What We Offer

Reporting to the IT Project Portfolio Manager, the IT Project manager independently and relentlessly drives medium-high complexity projects from initiation to close, staying within scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives; delivered to the satisfaction of business stakeholders. Project types will vary (software, infrastructure, documentation, training, etc), executed within a matrix environment.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, Plan, Monitor/Control and Close assigned projects ranging from a few months to multi-phased, multi-year implementations, across the Mattamy enterprise
  • Track and manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques and tools
  • Communicate project objectives and status to all team members and project stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Troubleshoot problems that come up during projects, maintain accurate defect and issue tracking logs
  • Effectively manage vendors, holding them accountable for the deliverables they are contracted to produce
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Provide business and technical teams with feedback, encouragement and advice
  • Guide and assist project team members in identifying and estimating their tasks
  • Produce and maintain a variety of project management documentation including Project Charters, Project Management Plan, Schedules, Budgets, Risk Registers, Communication Plans, Cost/Benefit Analysis, Issue list, Quality Reviews, Status Reports and Lessons Learned Reports
  • Ensure that all required documentation is created with quality, signed off appropriately and stored correctly.
  • Chairing and facilitating meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team member, including documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings
  • When requested, participate in other non-project specific Project Management Office (PMO) and department initiatives, including process improvement and efficiency initiatives within the PMO

What You Bring

Need to Have

  • 5+ years of project management experience within the IT project field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Experience with waterfall and agile project management methodologies
  • Ability to apply proven project management methodologies and practices, including Project Management fundamentals (e.g. PMI or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated familiarity and experience with industry standard project management tools
  • Demonstrated understanding continuous improvement and driving organizational maturity in an evolving environment
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Attention to detail in both administrative and project/program activities

Nice to Have

  • Project Management experience with Oracle, JDE, HBSS
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM) and/or PMI-ACP
  • Experience running infrastructure projects
