HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST - 12-16 MONTH CONTRACT, STINSON, CONCORD

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team for a 12-16 month contract!


Working closely with our Ramudden Canada’s Human Resources Director, you will be an integral participant in implementing programs to ensure harmonization across all businesses under Ramudden Canada’s umbrella. You will participate in all aspects of Human Resources including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, employee & labour relations, learning & development, performance management, total rewards, administration, and special projects.


In this role, you will work closely with Managers, Supervisors, and Employees to ensure a positive Employee experience and position Ramudden Canada as a best in class employer.

You will have responsibility for multiple locations and some travel within the GTHA will be required (Hamilton, Mississauga, Stouffville, Concord & Vaughan) to attend meetings and events

You have:

  • A post-secondary education in Human Resources
  • 3+ years experience as a Human Resources Administrator, Assistant, Coordinator, Generalist, or similar role
  • Experience or a keen interest in labour relations
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or construction is an asset but not required
  • A customer service attitude and approach to problem solving
  • Excellent administration skills and use of technology tools (MS Office, web-based programs)
  • Experience with BambooHR and/or TalentLMS are definite asset
  • Practical knowledge of applicable employment laws and HR compliance requirements
  • A valid driver’s license and your own vehicle

As a Human Resources Generalist, you will:

  • Participate in full cycle recruitment up to and including management level positions
  • Deliver and administer onboarding programs for new hires
  • Make recommendations to enhance recruiting and onboarding initiatives
  • Participate in the development and implementation of employee engagement programs
  • Identify areas of improvement for employee engagement and communication
  • Develop a proactive employee relations culture, encouraging employees at all levels to identify any issues; engage with Director, Human Resources and other Stakeholders to address areas of concern
  • Develop strong, positive relationships with all levels of employees within the Organization
  • Provide guidance and coaching in all aspects of employee and labour relations while keeping the Director, Human Resources informed and involved in sensitive and serious issues
  • Emphasize continuous learning at all levels
  • Research and recommend courses, programs, workshops etc.
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety Advisor to administer annual retraining plans for hourly employees
  • Maintain training records
  • In collaboration with the Human Resources team, administer performance management based on communication, competencies, goals, and strategic objectives
  • Administer compensation programs including processing approved pay increases, letters of advisement/ change, updating employment agreements, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety Advisor, HR team and Operations Management to ensure adherence to appropriate legislation and Organizational policies
  • Actively participate in workplace investigations and reporting
  • Act as a backup to the Health & Safety Advisor to manage WSIB claims
  • Participate in the maintenance of HR Policies and Procedures including recommending updates or changes to align with changes to legislation, best practices, and internal initiatives
  • Administer employee leaves of absence ensuring adherence to appropriate legislation, utilization of early and safe return to work and accommodation programs; maintain confidential employee health files
  • Professionally manage confidential and private information including employee files, compensation data etc.
  • Administer disciplinary action as required
