The Data Entry Clerk works under the direction of the Human Resources Manager. This is an entry level position with the following primary functions: administrative support, data entry, data tracking, file maintenance, record keeping and payroll assistance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the aptitude and willingness to accept new challenges and responsibilities while maintaining confidentiality and privacy with respect to sensitive information.

Responsibilities
  • Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department.
  • Data entry and processing of HR documents and new hire package information into YMCA HRIS (Avanti).
  • Set up and management of YMCA employee fitness memberships.
  • Manages Human Resources Forms through Microsoft Office
  • Set up and management of employees’ virtual training accounts via the YMCA’s learning management system (Moodle)
  • Optimize HRIS (Avanti) to track and report on a variety of metrics.
  • Maintains and updates all employee files, both physical and virtual.
  • Data entry and verification of hours in Avanti for seasonal staff payroll.
  • Track and input volunteer hours, certifications and recruitment information.
  • Recording of Incident Reports in HRIS.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources
  • 1 year experience in an administrative role
  • Ability to use sound judgment in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters
  • Professional with the ability to maintain a positive attitude where conflicting time demands are present
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications is required; experience with HRIS and payroll applications is an asset (Avanti, Salesforce/Avocado)
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Approaches all tasks and responsibilities from a customer service perspective
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills; effective time management and ability to meet deadlines; ability to manage a flexible schedule
  • A current and satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check is a condition of employment
