(Temporary Part-time, Non-union/Non-management)

Duties:

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position provides administrative support to the Human Resources Division and is responsible for the daily human resources functions as it relates to teaching and non-teaching staff in the Western Region of the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District. Responsibilities of this position include attendance management, which includes absenteeism tracking, updating, and reporting; data and file management including management of electronic databases; assistance in the recruitment process; responding to inquiries; and other HR aspects. This position will also perform other duties as assigned. This position requires some degree of decision making as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills. They must be able to work independently, be able to work under pressure to meet various deadlines, and have the ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. These qualifications would normally be acquired through the completion of a Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent with a concentration in human resources/labour relations, supplemented by recent and relevant experience in the human resource field in a unionized environment. Previous public sector experience would be considered an asset.
