Seafair Capitalis looking for a creative and results-oriented person who is excited by those questions – and who demonstrates strong communication, business acumen and teamwork skills – to be our Human Resources Advisor. You will play an integral role in assisting our managers with the daily administration of the Collective Agreement; providing guidance on labour relations matters such as grievance administration, employment legislation, performance management, workplace investigations, and ensuring workplace policies and procedures are implemented and followed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liveour Core Valuesand keep our culture strong.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and make recommendations to managers for appropriate action.
  • Participate in disciplinary meetings, helping minimize complaints, disputes and grievances.
  • Manage the grievance resolution process, ensuring fair and equitable practice is upheld.
  • Participate in arbitrations and other dispute resolution processes or statutory processes, when required.
  • Compose corrective action letters, workplace agreements, grievance resolutions, and other related correspondence
  • Develop a wide variety of written materials including policies, procedures, employee handbooks and memos.
  • Utilize technology and HR data to measure key performance indictors relating to employee relations to make decisionsand measure outcomes.
  • Embrace innovationand always strive to learn and share industry trends and best practices.
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in human resources or labour relations and/or equivalent experience. A CHRP designation would be considered an asset.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of recent related experience in Human Resources, with at least two (2) years of recent and related experience specializing in labour relations, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Full understanding and demonstrated working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Labour Standards Act, the Labour Relations Act, and the Human Rights Act.
  • Demonstrated experience in consulting, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated tact and sound professional judgement when responding to matters concerning sensitive information.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Solid negotiating, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to assimilate, analyze, and present information in appropriate formats.
