Roles & responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Talent Integration, the HR Generalist will:

  • Support staff and management with human resource counsel regarding performance and coaching opportunities.
  • Contribute to the maintenance, programming, and upgrade management of our HRIS, Dayforce.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to ensure the continuous improvement of processes, products, policies, procedures, and services.
  • Take the lead on researching, creating, and communicating wellness initiatives that cater to the diverse needs of all staff.
  • Oversee group insurance benefits for the organization as the Plan Administrator.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment to identify superior performers for our Support Headquarters, Help Headquarters, and the Selkirk branch while bing minful of our growing support for diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Onboard new employees and facilitate orientation for employees of all backgrounds.
  • Provide payroll support as needed.
  • Process Sunova bonus numbers and scorecards on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in the delivery of basic training programs.

Qualifications

In addition to embracing Sunova’s culture code of do good, be better, own it, move forward, and create fun, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will have the following qualifications:

Education

  • Completion of, or enrollment in: post-secondary education relating to human resources, business administration and / or adult education.

Experience

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in human resources, payroll, and / or workforce development is required.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience with an HRIS software is required. Preference will be given to those with knowledge of Dayforce HCM (Ceridian).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word with working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a financial industry or a related environment would be considered an asset.
