• Description:* Our Cleint is looking for a Sr. Health and Safety Coordinator to work in the Calgary office to take on managing the contractor safety management plan.
  
  

They have many industry examples that just need to be customized to their culture and systems. This person will likely be involved with supply chain in reviewing RFPs or onboarding new suppliers by reviewing their safety credentials and policies.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Identify cultural and behavioural issues related to HS&S, and drive a step-change in safety behaviours
• Act as project manager for the Contractor Safety Management initiative that aims at continuously improving the HS&S performance and compliance of our contract work force
• Lead optimization of digital platforms for HS&S performance and acts as liaison to the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team and ISNetworld
• Provide leadership, coaching and training for the implementation of HS&S systems and procedures to HS&S staff and other areas of the organization
• Develop and recommend new operational practices designed to meet changes in existing HS&S regulations and Company requirements;
• Support departments in the strategic implementation of HS&S systems and procedures in a consistent and effective manner by influencing and gaining buy in;
• Develop and build commitment and awareness towards HS&S strategies, business plans, programs, policies and practices; and,
• Build and maintain relationships with peers in the industry and act as their representative at related industry committees, as required.
• Lead or participate in incident investigations to ensure all corrective actions are developed jointly with frontline leadership team and tracked through to conclusion
• Monitor safety performance, analyze trends, and support the development of corrective action plans to improve performance to meet and exceed goals
• Available on call as needed to support emergency response, incident investigations and ongoing operations
• Other special projects as required *Must Haves:*
• 8-10 years exp, preferably related to upstream oil and gas
• Post secondary education in a related field
• A professional Health & Safety designation such as Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) would be considered an asset OR the desire to purse any of the designations listed above would also be considered an asset
• Ability to/comfort in interfacing with management, VPs etc.
• 4+ years in production operations, facilities construction and/or drilling/completions
• 2+ years experience coordinating H&S from the office
• Experience working within an operating facility
• Experience with a contractor safety management plan/systems.
• Previous experience leading complex investigations
• Understand how to go through RFP evaluation from H&S lens.
• Owner/oversight exp
• Ability to travel (approx 1 week/month) Nice to Have:
• CRSP (strong asset)
• Experience on the contractor side as well - background in safety audits
