Ridgewood is a subdivision of Ameriwood Home, a division of the Dorel Home segment of Dorel Industries, which specializes in domestically manufactured and imported RTA furniture sold through the brick & mortar sales channel throughout the United States and Canada. For our Cornwall facility, we are actually searching for a:

GENERAL LABOURER (DAY OR Night SHIFT)

Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the General Labourer will perform duties either on the packing line or on production mill operations.

The main areas of production are:

Packing Line:Examines boards, hardware and other items and packs them in boxes for distribution to other parts of the plant or for shipment.

Mill:Examines and stacks boards on skids or on rollers for distribution to other parts of the plant

General:Separates defective items for recycling or scrap, performs general labourer work as assigned, quality checks as directed, labels boards, receives instructions from the lead hand and works under the general supervision of the Mill Supervisor.

Physical/Visual: Frequent standing, walking, stooping, pushing, pulling feeling and grasping with hands and arms. Occasionally required to perform heavy lifting in excess of 30 lbs.

Requirements: Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

Experience in operating a forklift is an asset

Day Shift: Monday – Thursday 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday we finish at 3:15 p.m.

Night Shift:Monday – Thursday 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM

Start Rate:

Day Shift: $15.00 per hour – Increase upon completion of the probationary period at $15.25/h.

Night shift:$15.35 per hour - Increase upon completion of the probationary period at $15.60/h.

On 2022-04-01, we have a general wage increase of $0.50/h, and on 2023-04-01, we will have another general wage increase of $0,60/h.

Opportunity to advance to operator positions - minimum rates actually $17.50/h (Night shift: $17.85/h).

Benefits:100% premium paid benefits package after 6 months

RRSP:1.00$ per hour worked (Maximum 1800$/year) after 12 months
