We are looking for two Full-Time Behaviour Support Workersfor our Special Needs therapeutic program in North Vancouver. You will work as part of a team to provide support, care, and mentorship to youth with special needs in a therapeutic home setting. The lines are:

  • Sunday-Thursday, 7am-3pm shifts
  • Tuesday-Saturday, 3pm-11pm shifts

You will be able to indicate which line(s) you are applying for in your application.

You must have:

  • Post-secondary education in Psychology, ECE, ABA, Social Services, or related field and/or equivalent experience working with youth with special needs
  • Demonstrated experience working with youth with aggressive behaviours and mental health challenges
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development consolidated check
  • Minimum Class 7N BC Driver’s License (Class 5 preferred) and acceptable driving record

You’ll score more points if you have:

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification
  • Experience in creating social stories, visuals aids, sensory integration, and report writing
  • Knowledge of behavioural support plans
  • Experience with de-escalation and crisis management

  • Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
  • Building positive working relationships with the client, family, community members, and other professionals involved in the care team
  • Encouraging and modeling acceptable social standards and setting appropriate boundaries
  • Engaging in frequent interaction with clients, using appropriate means of communication
  • Facilitating recreational and/or educational activities
  • Attending school meetings and case conferences when required
  • Performing household maintenance duties, preparing meals, administering medication, and assisting clients with personal care as needed
  • Collaborating with the clinical team and providing input into assessments and care plans

Salary: $21.00-$23.50/hour plus benefits
