The Opportunity:

One of our clients, a healthcare technology company based in Burlington, On, is currently hiring for a Software Developer – Platform for a full-time permanent position working 100% remote. Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, the Software Developer (Platform) will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting software. You will be a core member of the software team, actively contributing to Agile meetings and occasional meetings outside the software team with internal stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Design and build software solutions by understanding requirements and gathering information to fulfill technical implementations
• Determine operational feasibility of solution designs by evaluating the problem definition and balancing functional and non-functional requirements
• Share knowledge across the team, through code reviews, documentation, diagrams, and mentoring more junior team members
• Manage and support existing software by contributing to 3rd level support investigations
• Participate in our product development from ideation to deployment and beyond
• Update knowledge and expertise by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment, and by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
• Identify and communicate technical problems, processes, and solutions, contributing to continuous improvement and best practices

What You’ll Need to Be Successful:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a technical field, including Computer Programming, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent
• Master’s degree is a strong asset
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, designing and building web applications, web services, or developing large software systems
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development in Node.js., Java, .Net, or Python
• 5+ years of professional experience with relational database tools and query languages (SQL)
• 3+ years of professional experience with front end technologies and frameworks, particularly with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React/Redux
• Knowledge of automated testing best practices and mocking frameworks
• Experience consuming and building RESTful web services
• Expert level knowledge in your chosen technology stack (Node.js is preferable)
• Experience working modern cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure)
• Experience developing mobile applications is an asset
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas in a simple manner
