Job Overview

You will work closely with the CFO to manage financial functions, including accounts payable/receivable, billing, bank reconciliations, audits, while providing support to payroll. This position may require additional hours during peak times, due to the nature of the. We support a team atmosphere and would like someone that is willing to jump into anything that may come their way. Ultimately, you will work to ensure that our financial management is accurate and effective.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize financial data into useable information and maintain updated records, ensure compliance with the law
  • Monitor the daily performance of the accounting & finance department
  • Oversee daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, inventory, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Assist with establishing accounting policies and procedures that aligned with company’s targets
  • Maintenance and updating of general ledger
  • Payroll, monthly HST reconciliation and reporting oversight and support
  • Reconciliation, production and analysis of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Preparation of annual budgets, financial statements and T200 reports
  • Negotiation of insurance policies with respect to property and liability coverage
  • Assist the CFO with the development of Board Meeting Report
  • Analysis as required
  • Other projects as required and request

Work Hours

You will work on a Full-time basis for an average of 35-40 hours. Your hours of work will vary based on operational needs. You are not permitted to work overtime hours, as defined in the Act, except at the direction of your Manager or with their advance written approval. Overtime, if any, will be paid in accordance with the minimum requirements of the Act or in Lieu time as approved by HR.

As PED operates in a highly regulated industry, punctuality and consistent attendance are of utmost importance in your role. Accordingly, and except as may otherwise be required by your province’s legislation, you acknowledge and agree that a failure to arrive for your scheduled shifts on time or provide timely advance notice of your inability to attend at work, will result in disciplinary action.
