Job Title: Export Logistics Assistant
Department: Exports
Reporting to: Exports Logistics’ Manager
Location: Brampton Packaging Site
Greenfield is looking for a Export Logistics Assistant to join our growing team.

Position Overview:
Based at the Brampton Packaging Facility, this position will provide Exports logistics support for Brampton and other GGI BU’s. Functions include export products, completing appropriate shipping documentation, customs clearance paperwork for Origin and Destination, 3PL carrier support and ensuring deadlines with rail and ocean carriers are met. The position will also provide export customer service support as necessary.

Your Experience Should Include
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with freight forwarding (ocean/trucking)
  • Strong Manufacturing experience is an asset
  • 1-3 years of export experience is a definite asset

  • Strong computer skills
  • CCLP & or CCS designation would be an asset.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Support in production scheduling activities at the Brampton Packaging plant.
  • Create loading schedules for Dried Distiller’s Grain (DDG) at various loading point (working directly with transportation service providers and loading point staffs).
  • Liaises with truckers on Dried Distiller’s Grain Loading Schedule
Submit, review, and approves bill of lading instructions to carriers for Dried Distiller’s Grains Export shipments.
  • Secure Booking confirmations for Dried Distillers Grains shipments consistent with production and loading at the various location.
  • Prepare Prearrival Notices for DDG’s including Commercial Invoices and support document for customs clearance.
  • Update/maintain DDGS Schedule daily with booking changes, vessel delays, arrivals, split shipments etc. To include Track container shipments a weekly update to customers informing them of eta, and product on route.
  • Log weights tickets, create shipment reference, captures freight costs from carriers’ invoices in Navision.
  • Create and transfer Sale Order from 3PL elevators in Navision to Destination receiving inventory bins.
  • Matches weight tickets with ocean carrier invoices, for payment/processing including reviewing and auditing
  • Review and file insurance claims with Ocean carriers and intermodal partners.
  • Occasionally assist with securing Rail reservations for Alcohol shipments from Brampton, working closely with plant personnel on export shipment activity.
  • Performs cargo release in a timely fashion, when required and authorized by Management.
  • Work directly with ocean, truck and rail intermodal carriers handling related logistical issues.
  • Verify B/L information, apply for the relevant additional documents for package shipments including (COO, CNCA Certificates, Freight Certificates, and insurance Certificates).
  • Monitor Group email box, reply or forward emails to the relevant personal at Greenfield Chelsea / Ocean Carriers / Transport Canada in the event of Inspection / Missing labels/ other documents for Package Shipments.
  • Assist with the creating hazardous declaration forms for ocean carriers review their correctness.
Maintains shipping documents in compliance with CBSA - Canada Export Reporting (CERS & Summary Reporting, Transport Canada/DOT requirements.
  • Back up Support to Export Logistics Manager and Export Customer Service Representative during vacations/ absences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
