OUR COMPANY
Our head office and warehouse locations are in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We manufacture and sell aluminum trim systems for lap siding, panel systems and aluminum composite materials (ACM), primarily in the United States and Canada. Our products are cutting edge technology and highly innovative. With many patents in place or pending, Our Company has laid the path for our bright future. We are seeking an estimator with 3-5 years’ experience to join our team.
FOCUS
This position is responsible for running estimating software to estimate material takeoffs from PDFs for multi-family, single-family, and non-residential projects. Establishing and maintaining an excellent relationship with sub trades, suppliers and clients is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor level education in Civil Engineering or Architecture required.
  • Minimum 3 years experience as an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor.
  • Excellent in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
  • Has a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to effectively plan, execute, and monitor projects to successful completion within a timely manner.
  • Perform quantity and material takeoff.
  • Estimating experience in software such as Planswift or On-Screen Takeoff - must have at least one to estimate material takeoffs from PDFs for multi-family, single-family, and non-residential projects.
  • Preferably has experience in fit-out works and/or exterior finishes.
  • Knowledgeable in preparation of Bill of Quantities and Bill of Materials.
  • Excellent in Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be able to work with the various stakeholders of the projects: General Contractors, Developers, Consultants, Architects and Sales Team(s), etc.
  • Willing to travel to job sites as necessary.
  • Identify potential areas of concern and provide alternative solutions.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate in an English-speaking work environment.
  • Must have effective communication skills.
  • Trouble shoot customer needs via phone calls, emails and other means of communication.
  • Team player; work under pressure; attention to detail; tight deadlines are a must.
