Golder has a new opportunity for an Environmental Risk Assessment Specialist (Intermediate)to join our Contaminated Lands Group team on a Full-time basis based inthe Greater Toronto Area.

An Overview Of Your Role Will Include
  • Performs detailed human health and/or ecological risk assessments related to exposure to soil, surface water, groundwater, and air for a range of chemical, biological, and radiological hazards.
  • Interprets and summarizes field, laboratory and toxicological datasets, statistical analysis, and prepare written and graphical material for reports and presentations.
  • Actively resources and reviews industry publications and advancements in the areas of toxicology, environmental chemistry, public health, and related topics; this may include peer and junior publication review.
  • Develops and participates in field programs to collect samples for chemical, biological, and toxicological testing.
  • Delivers on overall management of tasks including planning, scheduling, resourcing, reporting and cost/scope tracking to ensure deliverables are provided on time and within budgets.
  • Supervises junior staff with respect to their technical professional development, current industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Increases internal awareness of Risk Assessment service offerings with project teams.
  • Coordinates the planning and execution of small projects. Monitors performance according to the project execution plan, and terms of the contract.
  • Builds an awareness and understanding of key business drivers and financial indicators that make Golder successful.
  • Provides technical input at client meetings as required.

Your Skillset Will Include
  • Bachelor of Science in Toxicology, Environmental Science, or equivalent degree from an accredited University, and five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Holds or is working towards obtaining a post graduate degree.
  • Experience in the consulting industry.
  • Holds a professional designation/affiliation in the province/territory of work (if applicable).
  • Familiarity with environmental sampling methods, risk assessment guidelines and statistics.
  • Actively seeking new ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels.
  • Sharing information effectively at the right time and level with the right stakeholders.
  • Building partnerships, communicating, and working collaboratively with diverse groups of people to meet shared objectives.
  • Effectively planning and organizing either own work and/or the work of others and setting appropriate priorities that align with Golder’s strategy.
  • Understanding and being aware of probability or threat of damage, injury, liability, loss, or any other negative occurrence that may be caused by external or internal vulnerabilities, and that may be avoided through pre-emptive action.
  • Focusing on and consistently achieving results even under difficult circumstances.
