The work location is in Nunavik and the normal work schedule is 11 hours per day on a rotation of 4 weeks: 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 2 weeks for rest.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the environment supervisor, the coordinator has the following responsibilities:
  • Ensure Apply the various legal requirements and environmental standards related to the management of our activities, operations and services of the organization and ensure their regulatory compliance;
  • Support and control the planning of the environmental monitoring program;
  • Develop, manage, audit and update environmental procedures;
  • Prepare and transmit mandatory reports and declarations to government authorities and stakeholders;
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports of departmental activities for internal and external communication;
  • Conduct site visits and inspections of exploration, construction, operations and reclamation sites;
  • Identify and evaluate problems, irregularities, non-conformities and potential environmental impacts of our activities, propose mitigation and corrective measures, follow up and issue recommendations;
  • Control and ensure the management and follow-up of environmental authorizations and leases acquired for mining activities;
  • Participate in environmental impact studies and rehabilitation projects for abandoned mining sites;
  • Prepare documentation and coordinate environmental management training for mining and subcontractor personnel;
  • Supervise a team of technicians and the technical coordinator;
  • Coordinate and follow up on the various works performed in collaboration with external consultants;
  • All other related tasks requested by the supervisor.

Qualifications
  • Hold a university degree in environment or related field;
  • 2 to 5 years experience in a similar position in the mining industry;
  • Technical skills to carry out specific environmental controls and monitoring;
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Mastery of MS Office software;
  • Bilingualism (spoken and written);
  • Good scientific writing and statistical skills an asset;
  • Experience in a northern environment.
