ECE Worker Assistant, Casual Part-Time
Role Profile
Under the direction of the Director, Child Development Centre, and in accordance with established guidelines set out in the Child Care and Early Years Act (2014), The Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement (2014), Public Health and Fire Regulations, The Early Childhood Education Division, Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness and Humber College, the Casual Part Time staff will assist the Early Childhood Educator to implements daily routines in the programs for individuals or groups of infant, toddler and/or preschool children; demonstrate the philosophy, techniques and theories of the Child Care Centre and the Early Childhood Education Department; and maintains on-going communication with families, college personnel and the community, with respect to the children and the program; and performs other related duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will possess current First Aid/ CPR certification as well as successful medical/TB test results and valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check is required. Experience in an inclusive child care setting as well as proven working knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act, Public Health Regulations and Fire Regulations. Other qualifications include: excellent teamwork, problem solving, written/verbal communication and human relation skills as well as demonstrated skill and knowledge to deal with all aspects of diversity in a post-secondary environment.
