Role Purpose/ Summary:

Our Supply Chain Director will be responsible for developing strategic plans to improve our shipping and logistics, refining our S&OP process, and implementing structured reporting to hit company-wide kpi targets. This role would also be responsible for overseeing the movement of all inventory materials, intercompany transactions, and managing any third party processing, as well as managing a number of direct or indirect reports within supply chain and logistics positions.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead all reengineering efforts as they relate to supply chain management, planning, and execution systems
• Utilize data analysis, business intelligence, and reporting tools to forecast supply and material needs across the organization
• Monitor developments within in-country and external markets to source materials and meet current/future supply chain needs
• Supervise the creation of materials requirements plans and forecasts, using established tools and methods
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators and metrics for supply chain planning and forecasting; enact changes based on findings
• Develop and, if necessary, implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans in pursuit of risk management goals.
• Facilitate, lead, and support all supplier relationships, and periodically conduct supplier capability assessments
• Regularly report on supply chain performance to executive team, Plant Manager, and other stakeholders
• Seek and establish ways to further align supply chain unit with the organization’s financial revenue goals
• Ensure that all reporting structures are well-established and follow blend with logistics activities, as well as freight and supply chain initiatives
• Maintain strict control over materials’ inventory levels in order to meet internal and external demand of product
• Identify discrepancies between inventory records and take action
• Provide strategic vision and detailed planning of logistics processes, and continually assess for improvements around freight management, purchase order fulfillment, and inventory movements.
• Manage related and third parties to ensure efficient processing of cannabis through the fulfillment process
• Oversee and develop logistics department staff
• Manage contracts and service level agreements
• Regularly review, and be familiar with, all applicable cannabis legislation and standards to ensure logistics and shipping compliance
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• University degree in business, with a focus on supply chain management, inventory control, manufacturing, or materials management
• Six Sigma or Supply Chain designation considered an asset
• 5 years of direct work experience in a supply chain management position with direct reports
• Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation management.
• Direct knowledge of disaster recovery plans and other business continuity strategies, as it relates to the supply chain.
• Knowledge of the cannabis industry is an asset
• Proficient in the entire MS Office Suite, in particular Excel
