We are recruiting for a driven, results-oriented, and passionate professional with a proven track-record and extensive background in operations and leadership for the Director, Operations position, based at Chances Maple Ridge.
The Director, Operations will report to the Regional General Manager and will lead the team to drive business growth, foster team engagement and increase operational efficiencies. The successful candidate will build strong working relationships with senior leaders within our business partners, community, and all other key stakeholders. In addition, the Director, Operations will have full P&L responsibility and is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing operational initiatives in alignment with corporate strategy to achieve measurable results within our compliance first culture.
Duties and responsibilities for the Director, Operations will include:
  • Provide leadership, operational expertise and strategic direction to the site and operational team
  • Continue to foster and maintain a culture of compliance, health and safety, learning, excellence and involvement with the team and community
  • Execute on enterprise talent to develop and build bench strength
  • Plan, direct and implement all strategic, operational, and marketing plans
  • Develop and ensure achievement of the budget as well as goals for revenues, expenses, labour, guest service and operational standards (P&L responsibility)
  • Establish and track key performance measures in all operating areas such as: financial, team member satisfaction and engagement and Guest Service experience
  • Identify and implement efficiencies to maximize revenues, minimize expenses, enhance the guest experience, and provide a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members; actively seeking feedback from guests and team members regarding improvements and satisfaction
  • Motivate and lead by example to ensure an engaged workforce; develop performance objectives and deliver performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Respond to and resolve issues as escalated; maintaining positive team member, vendor, and guest relationships to create and maintain guest loyalty
  • Maintain an ongoing awareness of competitors, ensuring the Company is a competitive player in the marketplace
  • Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, team members and regulatory bodies, in addition to community outreach
  • Ensure adherence as per our compliance first culture, with all policies and procedures, including compliance with regulators, licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory requirements
  • Champion and participate in events for the Company’s PROUD program
  • Manage other initiatives as required
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in a senior operations role within the gaming, hospitality or other industry
  • Experience in food and beverage and operations management preferred
  • Post-secondary education in a business discipline or suitable combination of education and experience

  • Superior written and verbal communication ability with excellent interpersonal skills and judgment, strong organizational skills and demonstrated service excellence with a proven track record of being responsive, meeting deadlines and performing to measurable outcomes
  • Ability to manage a large variety of projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed internal and external guest expectations through timely, effective, and service oriented communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse workforce to achieve common objectives
  • A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Ability to obtain gaming registration; comprehensive background checks and disclosure of personal and financial information directly to gaming regulators required
