The City of Regina is searching for a Director of Financial Services to lead a dedicated team while managing the strategic direction and increasingly complex day to day operations of the Financial Services Department. Reporting to the Executive Director, Financial Strategy & Sustainability, you will provide leadership to approximately 75 employees, including three managers.

This influential role requires an inspiring and inclusive leader who is passionate about service delivery. You have excellent people management skills which enables you to effectively lead a large team and to build trusting relationships with colleagues across the organization. You have an innate ability to stimulate employee engagement and a collaborative team approach to accomplishing goals. You will serve as a member of the Division’s leadership team with responsibility to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, elected officials, and provide advice and guidance to the City’s Executive Leadership Team.

You instinctively look for process improvement, efficiencies, and other strategies to improve organizational effectiveness. You are an inspirational leader who can articulate a strong vision to your team and is comfortable managing through change and building a high-performance team. You have strong communication skills and are always striving to achieve excellence while showing political acumen and a thoughtful approach in all your business interactions.

You will provide vision, leadership, expertise, project management and consistency in the delivery of financial services to the City. The Director ensures effective and efficient development and execution of financial policies, practices, and processes, including oversight over key financial functions including financial reporting, forecasting and analysis, internal controls, treasury, and the City’s procurement activity. Ideally you have an accounting designation (CPA) and post-secondary education along with five or more years of senior leadership experience.
