Job Description
As World Vision Canada continues evolving into a digital workplace, there is an increased need to emphasize employee development, engagement and efficiency. Responsible for the delivery portfolio of internal-facing technologies, the Director, Employee Centric Delivery will concentrate on building a more integrated and fulsome employee experience, striving to build a digital workplace that feels analogous to a physical one. Employing technology and data, she/he will work to ensure that daily operations are as frictionless as possible and that each employee is able to maximize their productivity. In addition to leading all aspects of technical delivery, she/he will be responsible for thought leadership, strategic direction and ideation for the digital workplace.

Duties and responsibilities

Delivery Portfolio Expert
  • Manages 2-5 cross-functional delivery teams with supporting functions to deliver employee-facing projects
  • Defines the strategy and vision for building an engaging, seamless employee experience.
  • Ownership of employee-facing technologies, implementations and roadmap.
  • Leverage data and analytics technology, along with a deep understanding of the organizational strategy to guide delivery and prioritization.
  • Provide leadership.
  • Gather insight and analysis through quantitative and qualitative research on employee trends to inform initiatives and innovative best practices.
  • Develop and evolve a digital analytics strategy to measure the contribution and effectiveness of all initiatives to overall employee health and sentiment.
  • Provide direct input into the data governance and cyber security practice.
  • Collaborate with partners to define and measure cross channel and organizational KPIs for the management of business effectiveness, ensuring a holistic view of organizational performance.
  • Conduct quarterly planning and reviews to aid in the assessment of performance against plans and work with marketing leaders to identify opportunities to modify investments to enhance overall results.
  • Provide leadership, staffing, facilitation and guidance for teams.

  • Fosters a culture of coaching, on-going individual and collective performance assessments against plans, and an open team atmosphere and dialogue (daily huddles, biweekly team meetings, one-on-one updates, individual quarterly performance meetings, devotions, celebrations, etc.)
  • Ensures that all staff are oriented to WVC’s core documents, policies, and procedures.
  • Renews the team/department with effective hiring to ensure full support of team goals.
  • Builds and nurtures cohesive and collaborative interactions across business units and other teams to support operational and strategic goals.
  • Competently manages and plans the finances and administration of the team/department.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Responsible for participating in action planning to address employee feedback from the staff engagement survey.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT delivery.
  • 5+ years of relevant IT leadership experience in senior management capacity.
  • Thorough understanding of building Agile teams and delivery.
  • Deep understanding of all aspects of delivering technology projects.
  • Basic understanding of software architecture, data architecture, DevSecOps and information security.
  • Experience developing strategy, vision and long-term roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated a high level of personal ownership, collaborative teamwork, holistic value-centric perspective, work adaptability, and innovation.
  • Demonstrated history of continuous learning, relentless improvement, openness to new ideas, healthy attitude to failure, and personal drive to grow.
  • Demonstrated collaboration, organizational, interpersonal, communication, conflict management, problem-solving, change management, attention to detail, decision making, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the adoption of new tools and ideas of both internal and external partners.
