Overview Of The Opportunity

The Digital Learning Technologist collaborates with core members of the Tax and Digital Learning teams as well as internal client groups to support and enable the development, implementation and evaluation of learning solutions. In addition, they assist in managing the effective execution of learning initiatives and projects, with a focus on operational/tactical tasks. Effective execution means consistently completing simple and complex projects on-time and on-budget and will also require strong planning, administrative, communication, project management, and analytical and reporting capabilities. The Digital Learning Technologist interfaces with internal clients, project team members and external vendors to maintain productive relationships necessary to execute the operational and tactical elements of the learning strategy for National Tax.

What You Will Do

Learning Program Production and Delivery
  • Assisting in the set-up and teardown support for all onsite and offsite programs (during National Tax Conferences, after the ‘return to office’)
  • Assisting with the set up and moderation of online, virtual instructor-led learning sessions (including polling, rehearsals, communicating flow to virtual classroom producers, reporting, etc.)
  • Works in close collaboration with the central Digital Learning team, including the Learning Technology team/GLMS team to facilitate the uploading of courses in a timely manner, the capture of all necessary reporting data to complete required analysis or other work as required or delegated in support of our peoples’ ongoing development
  • Collaborate and coordinate with ITS and the Learning Technology team to plan for and deliver virtual instructor led training through ICT platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Kaltura, etc.
  • Manage, as required, the audio/video recording of events and posting recordings to resource libraries - with strong video editing proficiency
Learning Program Reporting and Evaluation
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the learning experience within the National Tax function by capturing and analyzing the appropriate learning data/metrics, insights and best practices, and proving insights and recommendations back to Tax learning leaders
  • Accountable for the documentation and maintenance of documentation relating to key processes and procedures within Tax learning
Learning Program and Project Management
  • Providing administrative support on a variety of learning projects/programs, including project management, reporting, session organization and production prep, communication distribution, calendar invites for training sessions, liaising with vendors, instructors, course participants and service line leaders
  • Maintaining project documents and managing related day to day activities related to learning project management, such as ensuring course development milestones are met and work progresses on track, and ensuring delivery of quality learning solutions that meet established learning objectives.
  • Responsible for coordinating the implementation of learning solutions through the learning management system (LMS) and/or learning experience platform
Learning Material Management and Development
  • Contribute to developing, implementing and managing our content for Tax Technical and Business Learning, providing operational/tactical support to both the Senior Manager for Tax Technical learning and the Learning Solutions Manager for Tax
  • Maintains and updates learning materials templates (including presentations, communications, training materials, etc.)
  • Collaborate in the development of curated learning solutions or the creation of interactive and responsive eLearning modules/courseware using leading instructional design principles and industry standard tools
  • Build or collaborate in building and executing evaluation of solutions to assess for effectiveness and efficiencies based on agreed KPIs
What You Bring To The Role
  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar role (e.g. Learning Technologist, Learning Specialist, project management or administrator roles)
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects on-time and on-budget
  • Strong interpersonal and mature communication skills (both written and oral) to interact effectively with senior management and leaders at different levels across the firm
  • Strong organizational, people management and effective team player skills
  • Excellent process creation and continuous improvement skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize issues by using clear project management principles
  • A strong team orientation with the ability to work collaboratively to achieve goals
  • Strong influencing, presentation, negotiation and communication skills coupled with the ability to work independently; ability to influence and negotiate through formal and informal networks
  • Able to adapt quickly to changes and adjust priorities accordingly
  • Knowledge and use of various authoring tools (e.g. adobe eLearning suite, lectora, captivate)
  • Knowledge of industry standards, SCORM, AICC for eLearning courseware and learning systems and technology infrastructure knowledge (e.g. servers, networking, architecture, and technology standards)
