JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties:

  • Develops, maintains and implements BC Hydro’s digital content strategy and content
development on various digital platforms. Develops and maintains content models to display
organizational, project information and website platform taxonomies to meet business
requirements and enhance user/customer experience.

  • Develops and maintains guidelines and best practices for user experience. Provides guidance
and assistance to stakeholders on how to use best practices in content strategy, user experience
design, user interface design usability and accessibility to enhance user/customer experience.

  • Project manages user/customer experience activities related to digital content projects and
campaigns by: gathering requirements from stakeholders; leading customer journey engagements
with stakeholders; developing and recommending content strategies for user/customer experience
that align with business requirements and enhances user/customer experience; working with
stakeholders to present recommendations to Executives for approval; and developing and
monitoring project plans and timelines to ensure projects are on track.

  • Oversees the completion of work by digital agencies on projects to ensure deliverables align with
project requirements, timelines and adhere to BC Hydro’s brand standards.

  • Copywrites business communications, user interface and user experience labels, copy for web,
editorial and educational copy. Edits copy from stakeholders and external vendors as required to
ensure content is understandable and user-friendly and adheres to BC Hydro’s brand standards.

  • Develops communication strategies and plans based on insights gathered from stakeholders.
Works with stakeholders to implement communication plans that provide streamlined information
to customers more effectively.

  • Follows-up with stakeholders and vendors on post-launch activities such website enhancements/

fixes and content updates. Monitors user/customer experience on digital platforms and
recommends user/customer experience improvements to stakeholders.

  • Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the
job.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Communications, Marketing or a related field.

  • Three (3) years of experience in a role involved in digital content strategy, digital content
development and copywriting and editing.

  • Requires in-house training on BC Hydro’s corporate writing guidelines; or must complete within
three (3) months of starting in the job.

  • Courses in communications are considered an asset.

Flexible work model role definitions
===========================
Our four role types identify the degree of flexibility an employee could have to work from home
based on the type of work they do. The flexibility for an individual job is up to the manager for
each position and the operational requirements. Employees also have the right to work full-time
from the office if they prefer. All of our roles require at least some in-person time.



IBEW/Field – No option to work from home
Resident – Works primarily (4+ days per week) in the office.
Hybrid – May be able to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Remote – Works from home 4+ days per week
