Western Canada Theatre (WCT) is hiring a Development & Administrative Assistant to work with our dynamic fund development, venue services and administrative teams.

The successful candidate will collaborate on fundraising communications, donor stewardship, and fundraising events in support of WCT’s fund development objectives; coordinate external bookings for our rental venues; and support the effective operation of our administrative office.


Skills & Experience:

  • An interest & enthusiasm for Western Canada Theatre, for theatre & the live performing arts
  • Excellent Communication skills – verbal and written – being a “people person”
  • Organizational skills – well-organized, good attention to detail
  • Prior administrative experience – may include drafting correspondence & contracts, meeting minutes, supply ordering, generating invoices & managing receipts
  • Adaptable, flexible, and able to think on your feet
  • Customer service – enjoy building relationships with clients & customers
  • Problem solving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Computer skills – use of Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, data entry & processing orders
  • Class 5 Driver’s License (required) – with access to a personal vehicle (an asset)
  • Fundraising experience – working with clients, or in a fundraising environment (an asset)
  • Office 365 – prior administrator, or Sharepoint management experience (an asset)


Position Information:

· This role is full-time, term position, at 40-hours per week, largely based during office hours, but with some evening or weekend work expected.

· The position starts on September 20, 2021 (with flexibility) and continues through to June 24, 2022, with a strong possibility of renewal to an ongoing position following a performance review.

· This role based in Kamloops, BC, and a residency within the Kamloops community is required. The role is based in our Pavilion Theatre admin office in an in-person work environment.

· The salary range is between $37,440 and $41,600 (annually).

· WCT has a generous benefits package that includes extended health, paid vacation, time off during the holiday season, and a flexible work schedule.

· New hires are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the start of employment and may be required to provide WCT with proof of vaccination upon request.

· Employment is conditional on the successful completion of a police information check.
