Link Suspensions of Canada is currently seeking an engineering candidate to work at our facility in Nisku, Alberta, that can drive new product development based on the needs of our Customers. This candidate will need to be capable of working well in a small team and be capable of interacting / communicating effectively with the full range of people in company hierarchies to accomplish corporate goals. LSC is lean and flexible, the successful candidate must fit into an environment that is multifaceted with multiple projects occurring simultaneously. We are offering an opportunity to experience and interact with all areas of a manufacturing company while being responsible for product design to help us grow and expand. LSC’s products impact industries that were deemed essential services and we remained operational throughout the COVID pandemic.

Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Develop new suspension product designs and variants of existing products to satisfy our customer’s needs while ensuring safety of the products, components and systems generated.

· Respond to OEM customer requests and take responsibility for making the necessary engineering changes to ensure the customer is satisfied.

· Drive development and innovation for our suspension products through design optimizations based on current technologies.

· Help create and refine engineering documentation (drawings, work instructions, videos) for our products to assist internal / external engineering customers achieve the best understanding of the product’s design intent and integration.

· Aid to improve our engineering processes within our ISO 9001 Quality Management System to get them more streamlined and effective.

· Document current custom manufacturing tools, jigs, stands and other equipment as required.

· Collaborate with Production Personnel to design new equipment to improve manufacturing efficiency.

· Work within a team environment to support others and the Chief Engineer to achieve corporate goals and defined metrics.

· Identify manufacturing improvements which will increase our potential capacity and/or lower our operating costs.

· Generate viable and well-reasoned solutions to general problems and assigned special projects.

· Prepare and modify design drawings for manufacturing to ensure that design intent is well communicated.

· Interact constructively with internal/ external customers and suppliers on design and manufacturing related topics.

· Follow applicable engineering standards for safety of our products for the public.

The Successful candidate will have:

· 3-5 years of previous industry experience in the heavy truck industry and / or a manufacturing environment.

· Proficient design skills; capable of taking a design idea from concept, through analysis to validated component release for manufacturing with all applicable drawings and product information with minimal outside support.

· Very strong communication skills (both written and oral) to relate with all layers of our organization and our customers with respect and integrity.

· An ability to travel within North America for Customer site visits and testing programs.

· A technical diploma or degree in Mechanical, Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.

· A current registration with APEGA or ASET (or capable of being).

· Experience with 3D CAD software (knowledge of Creo Parametric and windchill).

· Knowledge Lean Manufacturing, ISO 9001 an asset.

· Experience with MRP systems. (IFS Enterprise an asset).

· An understanding of weld processes and / or fabrication methodology.

· Suspension design / understanding background.

· Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience.

Salary: $85,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
