On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking a Data Platform Solution Architect for a 12 months contract. To architect and guide the transformation of the current data architecture into a modern, real-time data processing architecture that serves the company’s data integration, storage, sharing, and analytics needs.
Data Platform Solution Architect Responsibilities

• Integration Platform:
• a. Design, develop, and implement data integration solutions to ensure data is effectively and accurately ingested and integrated across various systems.
• b. Evaluate and recommend integration platforms and tools, considering both batch and real-time processing needs.
• Operational Data Sharing & Storage:
• a. Design patterns for effective data sharing across departments and platforms, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and timeliness.
• b. Architect and implement scalable, robust, and secure operational data storage solutions.
• Data Lake & Data Warehousing:
• a. Design and architect a centralized data lake solution to store structured and unstructured data from various sources.
• b. Develop a strategic vision for data warehousing, ensuring data is effectively structured for analytics and business intelligence needs.
• Strategy & Transformation:
• a. Advise on the transition from the current data environment to a real-time data processing architecture.
• b. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and architect solutions accordingly.
• Leadership & Collaboration:
• a. Operate as a senior technical leader, mentoring junior team members and sharing expertise on data engineering best practices.
• b. Engage with solution review boards, presenting and defending architectural decisions, and gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
• Documentation & Insights:
• a. Create comprehensive documentation, including context diagrams, data flows, system interactions, and architectural decisions.
• b. Ensure clarity, coherence, and accessibility of all technical documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Data Governance:
• a. Work closely with data developers and cybersecurity teams to ensure that data handling and storage adhere to organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
• b. Advise on data quality, data management, and metadata management best practices
  

Data Platform Solution Architect
Mandatory Skills

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in data engineering, architecture, or a similar role.
• Profound knowledge of modern data integration patterns, data warehousing, and real-time data processing architectures.
• Expertise in leading data platform, tools, and technologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate with cross functional teams.
• Familiarity with data governance principles and practices.
