Credit Analyst - Contract

This role will be responsible for supporting Credit Adjudication Team to achieve Wolseley Canada goals and to deliver superior customer experience. This role will support customer growth and retention across Canada. The successful candidate will be instrumental in assessing customer risk, standardizing customer master processes, and lead the automation of our credit adjudication process.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will join a dynamic Finance team. They will be responsible for assessing credit applications, performing financial statement analysis, and make recommendations on customer credit risk. The candidate will have exceptional working knowledge of bonds and liens as it relates to the various provincial legislations. In addition to this, the incumbent will work closely with our marketing team and branch network to support various business initiatives. Additional key attributes include:
  • Exceptional knowledge of assessing and reviewing financial statements to ensure credit worthiness vs. acceptable level of risk by interpreting and applying the organizations credit and operational risk management strategies
  • Review credit scores in relation to portfolios in assessing portfolio risk
  • Superior knowledge and analysis capabilities of commercial financial statements, specifically: cash flow reports, financial ratios, trends, etc.
  • Exceptional communicator ensuring branch and sales network, and key leaders are kept informed on customer credit risk
  • Provide recommendations and credit strategies to support organic growth
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge Requirements
  • 3+ years of credit related experience (construction industry is an asset)
  • CCP, CICP, or other Undergraduate Degree
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in M/S Office
  • Intermediate level experience working with Excel
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Knowledge of AS400, Salesforce, and credit reporting agency applications is an asset
  • Bilingual is an asset
