AECOM is hiring a Crane Operator Journeyperson to join our SUNCOR Firebag project team on site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a regular, full-time position on a 14/14 shift schedule.

Crane Operators service and operate booms that are mounted on crawlers or wheeled frames as well as traveling, fixed or climbing type hoisting equipment with a vertical mast or tower and a jib.

Responsibilities:
+ Operators manipulate a number of pedals and levers to rotate the crane, and raise and lower its boom and one or more loadlines

+ May drive the crane to the job site, rig the machine up (pin the boom and pendant cables and pull the hoist cable in preparation for operation)

+ Set up the machine for the lift (i.e., make it level and stable) using blocking and leveling materials.

This is a fly-in/fly-out position and as such will be subject to the Government of Canada’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirements: _

Effective October 30, travellers departing from Canadian airports, and travellers on VIA Rail and Rocky Mountaineer trains, will be required to be fully vaccinated in order to travel. To allow travellers time to become fully vaccinated, there will be a short transition period where they will be able to travel if they show a valid COVID-19 molecular test within 72 hours of travel as an alternative to providing proof of full vaccination. That transition period will end on November 30. If travellers have not already started the vaccination process, or do not start soon, they risk not qualifying for travel as of November 30._

_Conditions of Employment for this position are: _

1. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.

2. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company’s Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.

Minimum Requirements

+ Journeyperson Certificate and/or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman

+ Crane Operator Journeyperson experience

+ Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certification

+ First Aid - Standard Level Certification

+ Common Safety Orientation (CSO)

+ Driver’s license and clean Driver’s Abstract

Preferred Qualifications

+ Interprovincial Red Seal

+ Good mathematical, scientific, mechanical and logical reasoning abilities

+ Good communication and reading skills
