Balanced & Restorative HR works with leadership teams to help their organizations succeed. Whether it is support with recruiting or providing advice on the complexities of HR, our consultants have specialized knowledge working in the industries in which we serve. Our client has an immediate need for a Human Resources Manager.

The Position

Based in Nisku, Alberta, the Corporate Human Resources Manager is an integral part of the management team and is responsible to guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for a multi-disciplinary organization while in alignment and supporting the overall mission, goals, and objectives.

The Corporate HR Manager has the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the evolution and modernization of a highly respected and recognized organization.

Key Responsibilities(including but not limited to):

  • Design, develop, and maintain the recruitment process (including its description, recruitment measurement definitions, selection matrix, recruitment sources, interviewing, regular measurement reporting, administering proper actions to close gaps, etc.)
  • Explores the market best practices in recruitment and staffing and implements appropriate best practices in the organization
  • Build and maintains quality relationships with internal/external stakeholders and recruitment agencies
  • Monitors and applies cost reducing recruitment process
  • Sets the social media communication strategy for various job profiles and functions in the organization
  • Acts as a single point of contact for managers regarding recruitment and personnel information
  • Monitors legislation and implements required changes to ensure compliance
  • Employment and compliance to regulatory concerns regarding employees
  • Implement and revise the company’s compensation program
  • Ensures compensation and benefits administration
  • Implements performance management and improvement systems
  • Assists with organization development and departmental planning
  • Develops, revises, and recommends personnel policies and procedures
  • Ensures all changes to company policies, procedures, and processes are clearly communicated
  • Administers and recommends employee services and counseling
  • Maintains affirmative action programs
  • Oversee exit interviews
  • Maintain department records and reports
  • Maintain company directory and organizational charts

Training & Evaluation

  • Design training for HR Recruiters and line managers
  • Ensure required training is administered to HR department
  • Creates and revises job descriptions and duties
  • Develops, analyzes, and updates company’s evaluation program
  • Conducts employee on-boarding, development, needs assessment, and training
  • Conducts employee evaluations to assess training and improvement opportunities

Team & Trades Selection Requirement

  • Collaborate with all departments to assess and determine requirements and qualifications for sourcing; ensure staff have appropriate qualifications and knowledge to meet objectives
  • Work closely with all department managers to ensure all training and certification requirements are understood for all projects

Bidding

  • Provide various documents and costing information to bidding team
  • Provide guidance on procedure and challenges with specific labour requirements
  • Build organizational charts and provide manpower forecasts
  • Provide company policies and procedures

Leadership

  • Support Senior Management on the proliferation of our culture and values throughout the organization
  • Lead by example and ensure a healthy, safe, and collaborative work environment
  • Uphold companies’ mission, vision, and values through leading by example
  • Provide day to day support and guidance to team members to support and achieve department goals
  • Provide guidance and instruction by delegating work, overseeing progress towards goals, coaching, and motivating team members to accomplish deliverables through encouragement and removal of obstacles
  • Ensures employees have access to safety, welfare, wellness and health information
  • Manages and develops the team of HR Recruiters

Education & Experience

  • HR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR)
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience, preferably in the oil and gas sector
  • Minimum two (2) years supervising a team
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of legislation and standards
  • Experience contributing to an environment that is constantly changing and has multiple stakeholders
  • Strong proficiency with English, both verbal and written
