Battat is looking for a motivated Copywriter with a passion for the written word and a knack for creative ideas to join the digital team. He or she will be reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager. Keen on working across traditional and digital mediums, this person (1) loves the power of words and has a natural gift for writing long copy and snappy headlines, (2) can see many points of view and collaborates with other teams to ensure that all creative needs of brands are met, and (3) adapts to change on the fly and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, organic environment. Responsibilities:
• Write SEO-friendly product descriptions for brand websites, Amazon and other e-commerce platforms;
• Perform product-specific SEO keyword research, including discovery and expansion of keyword opportunities;
• Analyze customer comments (i.e. product reviews, questions, etc.) and update copy to address their feedback;
• Create and maintain consumer-facing product pages;
• Write, proofread, and edit various print content;
• Add content to websites via CMS (i.e. WordPress) and proactively update as needed;
• Collaborate to create creative content such as blog posts, email marketing, newsletters, etc. Skills, Competencies & Requirements:
• Exceptional verbal, written and communication skills in English;
• Demonstrated expertise in creating engaging content (writing samples or portfolio required);
• Knowledge of current SEO best practices and keyword research techniques;
• Attention to detail and sense of ownership;
• Ability to adapt to a constantly changing and dynamic environment;
• Ability to mentor, coach and act as a knowledge resource to other employees on the topic of SEO;
• Familiarity with the following will be considered an asset: o Google Analytics o Experience working with Amazon or other online retailers o College diploma or a certificate in a related field (i.e., English, Journalism, Marketing & Communications, etc.) o Basic HTML o WordPress o SEO Auditing methods Experience:
