Dig Marketing is a niche digital marketing agency serving the gardening industry. We are currently seeking a part-time Freelance Writer to join our growing team of creative, dynamic marketing professionals.

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Communications, Journalism, or Advertising OR 1-2 years professional writing experience

• Excellent creative writing skills with the ability to engage a reader in a variety of styles

• Gardening, landscaping, or plant knowledge is a huge plus! If you know when and how to use a plant’s botanical name, we’d appreciate it greatly!

• Ability to perform detailed, accurate, and efficient research

• Adept at capturing and replicating the brand voice of a variety of clients

• Functional knowledge of search-engine optimization (SEO) as it pertains to content creation

• Proven ability to work to deadlines on a rotating weekly basis

• Experience with G-Suite apps including Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Gmail

• Technical aptitude: able to adapt to new digital applications quickly (e.g. project management apps such as Monday.com)

• Positive, team-player attitude with the ability to work independently

• Ability to accept constructive feedback

• Capacity for 10-15 hours of work per week

The following attributes are considered significant assets:

• Strong interest in plants, gardening, and/or landscape design

• Experience creating, managing, and/or scheduling social media content (Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)

• Experience with web publishing (Wordpress, Shopify)

• Professional experience with gardening, plant and flower design, landscape design, or experience working in retail garden centers
