The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Community/Council Support Clerk to join our team of professionals in the Corporate Administration Division, Legislative Services Department.

Reporting to the Township Clerk, in this exempt position you will provide confidential administrative support for the Township Clerk and assist in departmental functions associated with Council meeting requirements. You will maintain the Township of Langley Freedom of Information (FOI) request program and review records to ensure compliance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA). You will respond to public enquiries and requests for information and prepare routine and formal correspondence, fee estimates and invoices. The Community/Council Support Clerk reviews and records disclosure requests, converts records to pdf packages, tracks information and applies redactions as required. This position will appeal to applicants who are detail-oriented, organized and have the ability to work within deadlines.

Your education will include completion of Grade 12, plus experience with confidential clerical support and community public relations or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. You have excellent oral, written and computer skills, you are enthusiastic, well organized and able to exercise discretion and diplomacy in dealing with confidential matters.

BC Class 5 (full-privilege) Driver’s License or equivalent driver’s license for where you reside. A competitive salary commensurate with experience and an excellent benefit package is available with this Exempt position. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.
