Based in British Columbia or Alberta, under the responsibility of the Business Development Manager (BDM) for Western Canada, the position holder will drive sales growth in the Industrial Flooring Market through strategic planning, hands-on relationship building and implementation of sales programs by leveraging sales, marketing and technical services to accelerate success. Must have good knowledge of this product range and its market.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements strategic sales plans as outlined by the BDM to realize corporate goals.
  • Conducts market research to determine customer and corporate product needs by market channel, coordinating with BDM to establish corporate strategy and technology development.
  • Conducts sales presentations to key clients and prospective customers, while coordinating with sales representatives, selling MAPEI solutions with an emphasis on hands-on demonstrations using samples, and showcasing saleable product features through consultative selling approach.
  • Is the point of contact for Field Sales reps for product information and support.
  • Is responsible for development and introduction of all “NEW” products in collaboration with PLM and R&D to include effective launch strategy, training functions, inventory support and contractor acceptance, resulting in sales objective achievement.
  • Meets with key clients (Distributors and Contractors), assisting sales representatives while maintaining relationships and negotiating business opportunities.
  • Evaluates and assists in the resolution of product claims as they relate to “Performance Flooring” and its materials.
  • Participates in MAPEI tradeshows to demonstrate product, showcase features/benefits and to promote MAPEI brand awareness.
  • Actively participates in Local, Regional and National Trade Associations to gain Leadership position.
  • Conforms and abides to all MAPEI policies, work procedures, safety rules and regulations.
  • Performs other administrative duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • 7-10 years of related sales (Industrial Flooring) experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in Industrial Flooring Sales/Planning and Business Development
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Very good knowledge of Word and Outlook
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent mathematical aptitudes
  • Proficient in market studies
  • Very good supervision skills
  • Very good understanding of the financial world and of the industry standards
  • Capacity to challenge situation or people, sense of customer service
  • Knows how to inform and delegate
  • Time and priority management
  • Interpersonal relationships, leadership, team spirit
  • Analytical capacity and synthesizing mind
  • Very good communication and negotiating skills
  • Must be able to work remotely and independently under the direction of the BDM
  • Valid driver’s licence and valid passport holder
