Under the general direction of the Director of Finance, the Building Manager (and team of 5 employees) is responsible for the daily operations of the existing Pointe-Claire (PC) facility. You will also be expected to apply your expertise to help enact major modifications at our Quebec City sites. In addition, you will lead the planning of future infrastructure needs related to the PC building, including all relocation/wind-up activities and eventual wind-down activities of the existing facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Ensure the safety and security of building tenants;
  • Manage team performance including goal setting, regular feedback, performance reviews, etc.; provide guidance, mentoring and staff development opportunities;
  • Coordinate and manage maintenance and repair activities;
  • Liaise with vendors to ensure smooth daily building operations;
  • Manage the installation of new equipment;
  • Support development activities related to the other two sites (Quebec City and Vancouver);
  • Lead the planning of future PC infrastructure needs;
  • Manage the administrative, budgetary and project schedules of the PC facility project (e.g. coordinate, supervise, and guide the activities of professionals and contractors; carry out administrative and financial controls; coordinate tenders; ensure internal & external communications; ensure the collaboration of professionals, contractors and partners throughout the work);
  • Lead wind-down activities of existing PC facility;
  • Collaborate on and provide input towards special projects.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS*

  • University degree in engineering;
  • Being a member of a professional order is an asset;
  • At least 5 years of project management experience or indirect expertise in multiple lead installation roles;
  • Demonstrated experience complying with municipal environmental regulations (water treatment, air emissions, waste management, etc.);
  • Demonstrated experience successfully executing large scale project management (e.g.: construction, equipment installations, etc);
  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset;
  • Customer service as well as detail oriented;
  • Able to work autonomously and collaboratively;
  • Verbal and written proficiency in English and French;
  • Proficient in core IT applications: MS Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
